Terms of Use
Jamaah: Pray Together · Version 2026-09-15 · Last updated: 16 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Mohamad Sawan (trading as Jamaah Labs), REPLACE_WITH_POSTAL_ADDRESS ("we", "us") for using the Jamaah app and website. By creating an account you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
1. Who can use Jamaah
- You must be at least 13. Users aged 13–17 may only use Jamaah after a parent or legal guardian links their account and agrees to these terms on their behalf.
- Children under 13 can't have an account. A parent may add them as a child profile in the parent's own account and is responsible for that profile.
- You must give a truthful birth year. Accounts created with a false age may be closed.
2. Your account
Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for activity on your account. One person per account. Pick a username and name that don't impersonate anyone or mislead people.
3. Community rules
Jamaah exists to help people encourage each other kindly. You agree not to:
- harass, shame, pressure or intimidate anyone, including through repeated nudges or friend requests;
- upload photos that are sexual, violent, hateful, or show someone else without their permission;
- use a name, username or masjid entry that is offensive, hateful, or misleading;
- contact or try to contact minors for any inappropriate purpose (see our child safety standards);
- add fake masjids, fake check-ins, or spam;
- scrape the service, reverse-engineer it to get around security or privacy protections, or access other people's data;
- use Jamaah for anything illegal.
Use Block and Report on a friend's profile, or email us. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we report child exploitation to the authorities.
4. Religious content: please read
Prayer times, the Qibla direction, Hijri dates (including the start of Ramadan and Eid), and travel rules (shortening and combining prayers) are calculated estimates based on common methods and your settings. They can differ from your local masjid or authority, and devices can report location or compass direction inaccurately. Jamaah is a helper, not a religious authority and not a fatwa. Please follow your local masjid and trusted scholars, and use the settings to match them.
Streaks, counts and challenges are there to motivate, not to judge anyone's worship. Only Allah knows and accepts our deeds.
5. Premium, Family plans and payments
- Jamaah is free to use. Tracking prayers, prayer times, nudges, streaks and joining challenges stay free.
- Premium and Family plans are sold through Google Play as monthly or yearly subscriptions, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The price and billing period are shown before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and period until you cancel in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights, including any right of withdrawal where it applies.
- Family plans cover the buyer and up to 5 other members of the buyer's Family circle, in the order they joined. If the buyer's plan ends, the extra members return to the free plan.
- "Lifetime" means for as long as we offer the Jamaah service. If we ever shut it down, we'll give at least 90 days' notice.
- We may change prices for future billing periods. Google Play will tell you before a price increase applies to your subscription.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of what you add (your name, photo, masjid entries). You give us permission to store it and show it to the people your settings allow, only to run Jamaah. Masjid names and locations you add may stay available to the community after you delete your account, without your name.
7. The service
We work hard to keep Jamaah running and reminders on time, but we can't guarantee that the app is always available, error-free, or that notifications arrive on time; phone settings and battery optimisation can delay them. We may change or discontinue features. Where we can, we'll tell you in advance about changes that significantly affect paid features.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Jamaah is provided "as is", and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for relying on calculated prayer times, Qibla or dates. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your mandatory consumer rights.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Me → Account → Delete account) or at /delete. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or where required by law. Where appropriate, we'll tell you why and let you respond.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the version above and notify you in the app before the changes take effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye, without taking away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, including your right to go to your local courts. Please contact us first. Most issues can be solved quickly by email.
