Child Safety Standards
Jamaah: Pray Together · Last updated: 16 September 2026
Jamaah has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, and any sexualisation of minors. Any account involved is permanently removed and reported to the relevant authorities.
How the app is designed to protect young people
- No chat or private messaging. People can only send short preset encouragements (for example "Asr is ending soon 🤲"), so there's no way to send someone a message, link or image. The only text users can write is short names and titles (display names, circle names, Group Khatm titles, masjid names), and every profile can be reported.
- No accounts under 13. Younger children exist only as profiles inside a parent's account and can't be contacted by anyone.
- Teens (13–17) need a parent. A parent must link and consent before a teen can use the app. The parent sees the teen's daily progress and must approve every new friend.
- Teens are only in circles with their parent. A teen can join a circle only if their linked parent is in it, and a teen's own circle can't be joined by anyone else until their parent has joined. If the parent leaves, the teen leaves too.
- Teens can't be discovered. They don't appear in username search or phone-contact matching, and their profiles are visible only to people already connected to them.
- No photos for minors. Minors can't upload profile photos. Adults' photos are screened automatically for nudity and violence before anyone sees them.
- Location stays private. Coordinates are never shared. A masjid check-in shows only the masjid's name to approved friends, for 45 minutes.
- Block and report are available on every friend's profile.
Reporting
- In the app: open the person's profile → Report (or Block).
- By email: jamaahlabs@outlook.com. We review child-safety reports first, usually within 24 hours.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first.
What we do
- Remove offending content and permanently ban the accounts involved.
- Preserve relevant information and report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the competent national authorities, as required by law.
- Cooperate with law enforcement requests that follow legal process.
